Distinguishing features

They have a rufous forehead, an olive back, a whitish throat and chest with black streaking and a brown rump.  The iris is a dark red.

Distribution and habitat preferences

It inhabits the lower vegetation in thick undergrowth of forests in eastern and south-eastern Australia, including Tasmania.
