Greenfin Parrotfish (Chlorurus sordidus), Ningaloo Marine Park

Parrotfish are closely related to wrasse; they both swim with their pectoral fins for example. Parrotfish are wrasse on steroids though when it comes to colour - one species can have several colour forms. For this reason, other characteristics like the shape of the head and tail fin are helpful for identification.
