"Perlita de Iquitos" or Polioptila Clementsi
Peruvian bird "Perlita de Iquitos" or Polioptila Clementsi. The Polioptila Clementsi is in risk of extinction, and according to researcher biologist Jose Alvarez, of the IIAP (Researching Institute of the Peruvian Amazonia), only 30 of these birds are still alive in the National Park Allpahuayo-Mishana, in Iquitos, in the Peruvian northeast jungle. Their extinction process is directly related to the deforestation in the zone.
