Distribution and habitat preferences

It is found in Australia and Papua New Guinea. (Wikipedia)

It is found in grasslands and heath fringes bordering swamps and mangroves. North Stradbroke and Moreton Is. It is also found in the Kimberley region, WA, coastal NT and from Weipa, Qld, to the tip of Cape York Peninsula and down the east coast of Australia to mid NSW. (Queensland Museum)
