Distinguishing features

They are brown to grey and have several pairs of darker spots on the top of their abdomen. Often there is a dark stripe down the middle of the abdomen from the front to part of the way towards the back of the abdomen.

  • Up to 4 cm (Body length) - applies to Females
  • Up to 2.5 cm (Body Length) - applies to Males

Chronotypes

nocturnal (active at night)   It hunts at night by wandering around, often in houses and sheds and the like.

Diet

It eats insects and other invertebrates.

  • significant discomfort - They are able to inflict a painful bite but are generally more interested in escaping notice. Females will try to protect their egg sac, however.
