Distinguishing features

The female is an unmarked pale colour below, and straw-brown above with white streaking; the male is similar but less neatly-marked. The species has a large pale bill, and pale eye. (Wikipedia)

The female has a heavy grey-blue bill and a white to yellowish eye. Males are smaller and have dark scales on the side of their necks. (Simpson and Day)
