Distribution and habitat preferences

The bluelashed butterflyfish is found in seaward and lagoon reefs in areas with rich coral growth. Juveniles may be found in shallow Acropora thickets (Wikipedia).

Behaviour

Adults occur in pairs (Wikipedia).
