Distribution and habitat preferences

Schooling species found in bays, coastal waters and estuaries. Juveniles often associated with estuaries and shallow continental shelf waters. Often associated with rocky reef.

Behaviour

Feed on plankton by ram-filtering and suction feeding and on benthic invertebrates.
