Distinguishing features

The only snake in Yalgorup National Park with black bands encircling the body and tail.

Distribution and habitat preferences

Adapted to fossorial life. They move rapidly through loose leaf litter and "swim" through sand in search of prey.

Diet

Sand-swimming skinks of the genus Lerista. Worm-lizards (Aprasia) are sometimes taken.
