Distribution and habitat preferences

Striated grass-wrens tend to inhabit sandy areas with good covering of spinifex grass.

Behaviour

They are shy and difficult to spot. It can be better to find bird tracks among the spinifex, sit down, and wait for them to come out of hiding.
