Local abundance

  • Lizard Island, Queensland, Australia: The little black cormorant is abundant in Australian waterways but the first recorded sighting of this species at Lizard Island was in early December 2011 - a single individual on Casuarina Beach.
  • Cape Kidnappers, New Zealand: locally common
