Interesting facts

  • Like NASA sending radio waves into Space, these plant sends a chemical signal into the soil to attract bacteria. When they arrive, tiny roots form a cocoon around the bacteria and like Storm Troopers the bacteria clones itself. A root hair then grows into the cocoon and like the docking arm of a space ship, the bacteria travel through it, are surrounded by a spacesuit-like membrane and enter the cells of the plant. The bacteria then turn atmospheric Nitrogen into an amino acid (one of the building blocks of Proteins) and gives it to the plant.
