Yorkshire-fog (Holcus lanatus)

Flowerheads are loose to contracted panicles (5- 17 cm long); green, purplish to white, ripening to buff. Spikelets are 4-5 mm long and 2-flowered; the lower floret fertile and unawned, upper floret male and with a hooked awn.
