Annual bromegrasses of Bromus sections Bromus and Genea often coexists in open dry settings that are frequently or occasionally-severely disturbed. Such annual exotics are essentially confined to stream- and trail-sides and rarely occur in this area out in the shrub steppe where physical disturbance is minimal.
