I have rarely seen such a crop of ripe fruit as on this healthy old specimen. This palm has been popular in Sydney gardens for over 100 years. The Sydney climate seems to suit it very well, but its growth is quite slow and it even takes 15-20 years to start forming a trunk. These ones are about 12 m tall.
