Sometimes called the resurrection plant because during very dry times, the plants can appear to be dead (no leaves just stems) and after a shower of rain they will revive. Throughout our forest we have granite domed rocks. Most are not very high but have specialized flora around and on them. One of the plants growing on the damper areas among the moss is Borya sphaerocephala shown here after a lengthy dry time. It changes to a beautiful orange and yellow colour. With enough rain, it will turn green. Native beeflies and native bees visit the flowers occasionally. Flowers Aug to October.
