Red-legged Kittiwake (Rissa brevirostris)

They are found around the Bering Sea from the Pribilof Islands to the Russian Commander Islands. These birds are good fliers and dive at the water making shallow captures of prey, such as fish, just below the surface. They are nest builders, as is seen with this gull here using mud, grass, and seaweed -- and moss.
