Photo of Animalia: Raggy Scorpionfish (species: Scorpaenopsis venosa)

Head of Scorpaenopsis venosa about 20 cm long at Cobia Hole, Lizard Island.

This individual was identified by Dr Hiro Motomura through iNaturalist. He notes that the snout is longer in similar congeners, S. papuensis and S. oxycephala.
