White-tailed Kite (Elanus leucurus)

The day before I took this photo I was observing 3 to 4 White-tailed Kites foraging all within view of eachother over the dredge spoils on the Ballona Wetlands Ecosystem. They would occasionally meet-up on a corner of the location and then spread out again and forage the area usually quite spread out but still within view. This behavior reminded me of my observations of the Ospreys that were meeting up on Ballona Creek at a location then spreading out to forage and returning to the same location a number of times. It seemed like some kind of communal foraging strategy.
