Shivery Grass (Briza minor)

© Harry Rose

Introduced, cool-season, annual, erect, tufted grass usually 20-30 cm tall. A native of Europe, it is a minor weed along roadsides and in disturbed areas where there is poor ground cover. Of no agricultural importance as it produces little leaf before going to head and is uncompetitive in coastal pastures.
