Tallong Midge Orchid (Genoplesium plumosum)

The ground orchid Genoplesium plumosum is known only from a single site near Tallong NSW. Numbers have decreased from 300 in 2000 to only 20 due to drought. Building construction within the village has lead to the loss of some plants and habitat. OEH is working with Goulburn Mulwaree Council to ensure that building proposals on sites supporting the Tallong Midge Orchid are designed to minimise impacts on this species and its potential habitat.
