Distinguishing features

The only known record of Cistina columbiae from Lizard Island is from the photo above. It was tentatively identified as such by Loisette Marsh (Western Australian Museum) due to the size, the apparent presence of spines along the arms and colour pattern.

From the size of other organisms in the photo, the longest radius of the specimen is estimated at 50-60 mm.
