Distinguishing features

Stichopus hermanni is a large, solid, yellow/brown holothurian with spaced dark spots. It has been referred to in the literature as S. variegatus. Its common name in the trepang trade is Curry Fish.

Distribution and habitat preferences

This species is found in water deeper than about 10 metres on sand. Stichopus hermanni can be quite common in particular locations and is often found near Holothuria fuscopunctata.
