Distinguishing features

A conspicuous anemone with very long tentacles. Oral disc lies flat on substrate, much of it bare of tentacles, with dull colour pattern of radiating darker/paler lines.

  • Up to 20 cm (Diameter of oral disc) - applies to Lizard Island specimens

Synonyms

Local abundance

  • Lizard Island: Rare. This species has only been found between the lagoon entrance and the main lagoon bommie in water deeper than 10 metres.
