Distinguishing features

Silver with yellow/orange spots on sides to bright yellow all over.

Synonyms

Comments

The soft part of the dorsal fin is dark in all three specimens photographed here. This was noticed by Rudie Kuiter who noted that this is also the case in his photos of Indonesian specimens. As well, the two specimens with substantial yellow colouration in the Lizard Island area photos have four indistinct pale vertical bands on the sides.

Fully yellow specimens have been observed at Day Reef by Anne Hoggett.
