Distinguishing features

This is the only species of Sandalolitha known from Lizard Island.

Colonies are free-living, heavily-constructed domes that are circular to oval in outline. There is no central furrow and the many corallites face outwards. Septae are are of fairly uniform height and polyps are not extended during the day. (Veron, 2000)
