Interesting facts

  • This flatworm is like a musketeer and it fences others of its own kind. It has two swords and if it succeeds in stabbing its opponent it won’t kill or wound them, but get them pregnant. (The swords are actually penises and located on the head and flatworms are hermaphrodites or both male and female)

Distribution and habitat preferences

This species is found in Indonesia, Malaysia, Kenya, Micronesia, Northern Mariana Islands, Thailand, Australia, Philippines, Solomon Islands, Myanmar, and Palau.

It is found on coral rubble and ledges in back reefs, coastal bays, and in lagoons. (Wikipedia)
